Dianne Flury, President
Dianne co-founded Atlantic Lighting & Irrigation in 1988 with her late husband Steven H. Flury. Together they grew the company to be one of the most experienced in the state.
She has been a leader and pillar in the company since its inception. She currently serves as President and manages all aspects of the business. She continues to keep Atlantic’s vision, values and commitment to excellence a priority with employees and customers. She is dedicated to providing the absolute best service and products to Atlantic’s customers while supporting the professional development and training of its employees.
Mary K. Sears, P.E., CIC, Vice President
Mary joined Atlantic Lighting and Irrigation to continue the family business. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a Civil Engineering degree and has worked as a professional engineer in the land development industry since 1997. She has private and federal sector planning, engineering design, permitting and project management experience. Her engineering expertise is water resources and storm water management design, as well as grading, sediment control, water, sewer, and roadway design. Her engineering knowledge and background relates well with the irrigation industry and the movement towards “green” building design and construction. Her new role with Atlantic provides her with the opportunity to continue working with homebuilders, commercial developers, homeowners, and landscape professionals to provide innovative design solutions for projects.
While working for Atlantic, Mary attended Weathermatic’s College of Knowledge for irrigation design, and has enrolled in various Irrigation Association (IA) programs. She received the Certified Irrigation Contractor (CIC) certification, passed the Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA) certification exam and is currently pursuing the Certified Irrigation Designer (CID) certification.
Mary was born and raised in the Annapolis area, and currently lives in Arnold.
Nathan Smith, Director of Sales and Operations
Nathan has been in the “green industry” since 1993. He has worked for Atlantic Lighting & Irrigation since 2001 and during that time, has designed and installed numerous projects of varying complexity for both residential and commercial use.
While working for Atlantic, Nathan has enrolled in various Irrigation Association (IA) programs. He received the Certified Irrigation Contractor (CIC) certification and the Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA) certification and is currently enrolled in the Certified Irrigation Designer (CID) program. Through IA certification programs, he is also registered as an EPA WaterSense Partner. He is also a Certified Low Voltage Lighting Technician (CLVLT) from the Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals (AOLP), formerly known as the Low Voltage Lighting Institute of the Americas (LVLIA).
Nathan, who lives in Shady Side with his wife and four children, has been in the U.S. Army Reserves since 1997. He has completed two deployments in Iraq in support of OEF and OIF.
Mike Hanley, Sales Associate
Mike joined Atlantic Lighting & Irrigation in 2006. He has been in the irrigation and outdoor lighting industry since 2005 and has more than 15 years experience in the home improvement industry. His commitment to excellence and knowledge brought him to Atlantic. Since joining the team, he received the Certified Irrigation Contractor (CIC) and Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA) certifications from the Irrigation Association (IA). As an EPA Watersense Partner, a program sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Mike is dedicated to improving water efficiency in irrigation. He also received the Certified Low Voltage Lighting Technician (CLVLT) certification from the Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals (AOLP), formerly known as the Low Voltage Lighting Institute of the Americas (LVLIA).
Through Mike’s experience as an irrigation designer, he has created lighting and irrigation systems for a variety of locations—ranging from traditional homes to homes requiring extensive landscape projects as well as commercial sites throughout the Maryland area. His job at Atlantic provides him with the opportunity to work with homeowners, landscape professionals and homebuilders throughout Maryland.
Mike enjoys living on Kent Island with his wife and daughter.
