Employees Receive Certified Irrigation Technician Designation

Mike Hanly and Neri Ortiz, Certified Irrigation Technicians (CIT)

We’re proud to announce that two of our dedicated staff members, Mike Hanley and Neri Ortiz, have become official Certified Irrigation Technicians (CIT). They’ve earned this designation from the Irrigation Association

What does it mean to have a Certified Irrigation Technician, or CIT as they’re referred to in the industry, handle your irrigation system needs?

A lot. Your irrigation system will be designed, installed and serviced using best practices and the best equipment in the business. This reduces future problems, system downtime and headaches. All of which could become costly.

Certified Irrigation Technicians are knowledgeable irrigation experts who install, maintain and repair irrigation systems. They are trained in the layout and installation of water delivery components; backflow prevention and electrical controls essential to today’s irrigation systems. In addition to prior in-the-field experience and passing a comprehensive 3-hour exam, Certified Irrigation Technicians also must adhere to the Select Certified Code of Ethics and every two years must complete an additional 20 hours of continuing education.

“Delivering superior irrigation systems for our clients is our number one priority and we believe that a highly trained team is integral to that goal. We’re proud that Mike and Neri have attained the Certified Irrigation Technician designation. Their commitment helps us to remain as one of the companies with the most highly trained staff in Maryland,” commented Mary Sears Singler, vice president Atlantic Lighting & Irrigation.

Congrats Mike and NeriWe’re extremely proud to have you as part of our team here at Atlantic Lighting & Irrigation!
